Response to Covid-19 here at Egans House
For additional information, please see 'Covid-19' section above.
A warm welcome to Egans House
The health and safety of our guests and staff is paramount. To that end we have instituted the following measures.
Rooms are not cleaned during the guest stay but all linen, towels etc are available by phoning reception (0) and having them delivered to the room. They will be left outside the door. Anything that you do not want can be left outside the door but please phone reception so that it can be collected as soon as possible. Extra blankets/pillows can no longer be kept in the rooms but are available on request.
Plastic screen installed at reception. Keys and pens etc sterilised immediately prior to issue and contactless payments preferred. 70% alcohol-based sanitizer gel and paper tissues at the guesthouse entrance, reception and at the entrance to the dining room. Small bottles of 70% alcohol-based sanitizer gel and face masks are available to purchase at reception at cost price (Masks €1.50, gel €4).
Frequent bleach-based cleaning of regularly touched surfaces like handrails, door push areas and handles, light switches, public bathrooms, check-in area at reception. Extra attention to similar issues in guest bedrooms including remote controls, telephones, taps etc, hairdryers and kettle handles.
Social distancing measures and discontinuation of self-service for breakfast and use of alternate tables. Staff training has been done. The entrance is always locked so that only staff and guests can enter. All others must ring the bell and are allowed in only if really necessary. The risk of Legionella (which is a separate infection due to showers/taps not being used frequently) is also being dealt with by disinfection and running them weekly.
Please do your part by keeping 2 meters apart, washing your hands and being careful if you cough.
Please book breakfast in advance the night before and wait to be seated in the dining room.
Please let us know if you notice anything wrong.
We will mind you and look after you as best we can! Wine and glasses etc are available from reception. The risk of catching the virus here in Ireland is extremely low.
Thank you and have a great stay.
