Situated in a quiet leafy, residential area, Egans House is only a stroll away from the world-famous National Botanical Gardens and 2 kilometres from the Phoenix Park (the largest Park in Europe) and Dublin Zoo. Egans House is just 9 kilometres away from Dublin Airport and a short half-hour walk from the city centre.
It takes approx. 10 minutes by taxi. The car ferry is also close by. Dublin City Centre with the Trendy Temple Bar is approx.10minutes by bus and 25 minutes walking briskly.
Bus Numbers 41 and 16A
All buses from the Airport pass along the same route. The stop for Egans House is on Drumcondra road just before the Railway Bridge. Directly across from this stop is St. Alphonsus Road: turn right at the 2nd roundabout off this road and you will be on Iona Park and Egans House is on your left.
Take the M1 for the City Centre. Travel for approx 5 miles or 9km on the Drumcondra Road, go over the bridge and turn right after Fagan’s Pub onto Hollybank Road. Follow the road round and take the last left turn on the road which will be Iona Park. Egans House is on the right.
Bus Numbers 4, 9, 40, 140
Make sure you are on the GPO side of O’Connell Street, going north of the City, take one of the above buses to Prospect Way. From the bus stop cross over to the traffic island and turn left onto Iona Road (opposite the Botanic House Pub/Night Club). The 1st turn left will take you onto Iona Park and Egans House is on your left.
Going up O'Connell Street, make sure that the GPO us on your left. Continue to the end of O’Connell Street, take a left then 1st right. Continue straight up to the main junction and traffic lights. Turn right at the main traffic lights, following signs for the Airport and you are now on Dorset Street which continues onto Drumcondra Road. Go under the Railway Bridge (at Quinn’s Pub), and take the left turn after the traffic lights, this is Alphonsus Road which leads into Iona Road. Turn right at the 2nd roundabout on this road onto Iona Park and Egans House.
Turn right and follow the signs for the Airport. Continue straight through several sets of traffic lights until you come to the end of Clonliffe Road. Turn right at the main traffic lights, (you will see Quinn’s Pub in front of you), continue by this pub and take the 1st left after the pedestrian lights onto Alphonsus Road. Take the 4th right of this road and Egans House is on your left.
